Arpita Nath is an Indian Folk Artist. Her style of painting is heavily inspired by various elements of nature, many traditional Indian folk art forms, substantially by Mithila Kala or Madhubani Art, a traditional form of painting that originated in the Mithila region of Bihar, India. In her paintings we can observe the usage of vibrant colours, intricate detailing, simple compositions and motifs derived from nature.
Growing up, she always felt a strong connection to creativity and self-expression, but it wasn’t until later in life that she fully embraced her passion for art. With no formal training, she embarked on a journey of exploration, experimenting with different mediums, art forms, techniques, and styles. Being an avid museum goer, she took great inspiration from the artists across the globe, and hold a high regard towards the works of artists like Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir to name a few. She also holds a keen appreciation for the Australian Aboriginal Art forms.
As she continues to navigate her artistic journey, she is grateful for the opportunity to share her creations with the world and to inspire others to embrace their own creativity, no matter where their path may lead.
